International Poetry and Art


 Interpoetry was established in 2002, when it took over the very successful “Greek and International Poetry” 
 web site with over 10000 visitors/year. It exists to provide a platform where all kinds of creative innovations can be published. 
 Interpoetry’s aim is to provide a space where new creative writers and artists can be seen next to more successful, 
 established ones. 
  To prove that Poetry is more popular than ever Interpoetry gets nearly  1500 vis/month and we thank you all.    
 Interpoetry is non-profit venture, relaying on the volunteering efforts of:



Kostas Hrisos, founder, 
webmaster, editor.

Kostas was born in Greece, moved to Newcastle in 1975 where he lived ever since.

Asit Maitra, retired A&E consultant, RVI, Newcastle, currently studying 
MA (Creative Writing – Poetry),  Newcastle University. Poems published in Acumen,  
Other Poetry, Dream Catcher, Norwich Open Poetry Competition 
Anthologies (1997,2002 & 2004), The Coventry Poetry Prize Anthology, Golden Girl, 
St.Mary’s Lighthouse & Redbeck Anthology of British Asian Poetry. 
Also published a pamphlet, ZIGZAG,  jointly with Pat Borthwick.

Τι είναι η ποίηση για μένα...

«...Ενδύομαι τις κορδέλες μου
αναζητώντας το Αληθινό Φως...»

Είναι η εσωτερική ματιά που προβληματίζεται για τον άνθρωπο ως
πρόσωπο και ως κοινωνικό ον.

Γεννήθηκα στην Θεσσαλονίκη, όπου και μένω με την οικογένειά μου.
Ξεκίνησα να γράφω ποίηση το 1998. Τέλη του 1999 εξέδωσα την α΄ ποιητική
μου συλλογή με τίτλο «Αιωρούμενο νησί». Το 2001 εκδόθηκε η β΄ ποιητική μου
συλλογή με τίτλο «Το Υδάτινο Πέρασμα του Χρόνου».Ποιήματά μου
διακρίθηκαν με έπαινο, στον Α΄ Πανελλήνιο Διαγωνισμό ποίησης που έγινε
προς τιμήν του ποιητή Παν. Καλαχάνη υπό την αιγίδα του δήμου Άσσου-Λεχαίου,
στην Κόρινθο το 2001. Το 2003 το λογοτεχνικό περιοδικό «ΚΕΛΑΙΝΩ» μου
απένειμε βραβείο για το ποίημά μου «Η κηλίδα». Ποιήματά μου έχουν δημοσιευθεί
στο περιοδικό κοινωνικού προβληματισμού «ΣΟΦΙΤΑ» και στο λογοτεχνικό
περιοδικό «ΚΕΛΑΙΝΩ». Στο διαδίκτυο διατηρώ προσωπική ιστοσελίδα
ποίησης. Επίσης φιλοξενούνται ποιήματά μου σε λογοτεχνικά sites στο διαδίκτυο.

MARIA PISIOTI-IOANNOU

It is the inward glance that thinks about people as personalities and as social beings.

Maria was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where she lives with her family.
She occupies herself with poetry. She began to write
in 1998. In the end of 1999, she published her first collection:
“Aioroumeno nisi / Pendulous island”. In 2001, her second collection was published:
”To Idatino Perasma tou Xronou/ The Aquatic Passage of Time.
Maria has been distinguished with prizes in poetic competitions.
She won a prize from the literary magazine “Kalaino”, for her poem “The spot”.

Maria’s poems have been presented in literary magazines. She has her personal web site,

sites in the Internet.

  We hope to give an outlet to people  who are interested in reading, writing and the visual arts.

  Interpoetry is updated bimonthly and  we accept submissions on a rolling basis of poetry, 
  prose, drama, reviews, articles, photography and artwork.
